제 생일은 7월 12일이에요. But I don’t think I’ll ask for a car ^_^
Good conversation, I heard a few new words in there that I’ll try to remember!

What does 바쁜 일이 있어 (towards the end of the conversation) mean? Does it literally mean “busy work have”?
July 3rd, 2008 at 7:02 pm
yea that’s exactly right! Work that is making someone busy.
July 3rd, 2008 at 11:36 pm
Is that a common way of saying I’m busy? What about 바빠요?
July 4th, 2008 at 1:16 am
Yes, Shan
바빠요 or 바빠서요… is perfectly fine ^_^ but if you say 바쁜 일이 있어서요, it kinda gives off a nuance that it’s not YOU who decided to be busy, but that work or occasion that is making it inevitable that you are busy, so you can’t tend to whatever the other person is asking for your attention for.
